A math game where creatures have been kidnapped from their villages and the player needs to help return them safely. The player will have to shuffle the creatures who are constantly wandering about into portals that will take them back. These nifty portals are a little particular on how many creatures they teleport. If the amount doesn’t match how many creatures are inside them, it won’t take them through.
This game is designed to help young students learn place value. So these are no regular creatures! They’re actually representing units of different place values. There’s the small purple ones that are one units, lanky yellow ones that are ten units each, and chunky green ones that are hundred units. You can also combine or break them up. For example, you can turn 10 purple ones into a single yellow tens creature.
There’s a variety of questions that can be set up using the portals that parallel questions you would usually answer on paper. Such as converting place value amounts into equivalent ones, forming amounts using the correct number of each place, and learning how to make expanded forms of an amount.
