This is Tetris with a math twist. It’s designed to help students memorise addition facts by gaining familiarity with what pairs of values add up to something.
As the player, the goal is to place each incoming block amount into the correct column such that it fills up the gridded area. If the block is placed in the wrong column it’s removed after they see visibly why – was the amount too much, too little?
There are different levels of difficulties through varying aspects of the game, such as removing the grids so that you have to rely more on recall or shorter heights needing quicker response times to move the block in place.
Initially, students rely on counting the grids to know where to place the block. But as they practice playing a few minutes a day and completing the different levels of difficulties, they begin to use more recall to answer.
